Definition

Enterprise Asset Lifecycle Management (EALM) is the operating model that follows an asset from request or purchase through retirement on one shared identity. Operations, finance, and audit write different facts — custody, cost, work, and verification — but those facts stay attached to the same register so teams never reconcile three competing versions of the truth.

Why the term matters

EALM names the full journey, not only maintenance. It is the category language AssetZA uses when work orders alone cannot explain ownership, depreciation, or physical evidence.
